The short answer

It is out. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look is a 26 minute 49 second video, free on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website. You do not need Netflix. Netflix had it six hours early on August 27 and nothing more.

Rockstar says the footage was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.

The video is age restricted, so it will not play here. This opens it on YouTube in a new tab.

What the video showed

Everything below is visible on screen in the video itself. No leaks, no reading between the lines.

What Rockstar said in interviews the same week

Rockstar invited outlets to Rockstar North in Edinburgh around the same time. These are not from the video. Each one names who said it and where.

Treat these as what a named Rockstar developer told a named outlet. They are not Newswire posts, and Rockstar can revise anything before November 19.

What is still not announced

The Extended Look answered a lot. It did not answer these, and nobody else has either.

The confirmed GTA 6 record as of August 28, 2026

What to do before November 19

  1. Console. This is a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release. Last generation hardware is the one decision with a hard deadline attached.
  2. Storage. Rockstar has published no file size. Clearing space costs nothing and a modern Rockstar open world is not small.
  3. Edition. Understand the difference between the two editions before launch night, not during it.

A note on leaked footage

Material claiming to be from an unreleased build has been circulating. We do not use it, link to it, or describe it. Everything on this page comes from Rockstar’s own release or from named interviews.

Update log

This page updates as Rockstar publishes. It does not freeze.
