GTA 6 DualSense Controllers: Price, Pre-Order Date, and Where to Buy

The short answer

Sony and Rockstar announced two limited edition GTA 6 DualSense wireless controllers on September 3, 2026. Black and White. Both cost 84.99 USD, 74.99 GBP or 84.99 EUR, and both launch on November 19, the same day as the game. Pre-orders open September 10 at 10:00 am local time.

You do not need one to play GTA 6. Any DualSense controller works.

What was announced

Sony revealed both controllers during the September 3 State of Play. Each has a shimmering finish that shifts colour with the light, palm tree details moulded into the body, and official GTA VI branding. The White edition is built around Vice City at daybreak, the Black edition around its nightlife.

There was no new gameplay footage, no console bundle and no PS5 cover announced alongside them.

Price and pre-order times

Both controllers are 84.99 USD, 12,480 JPY including tax, 84.99 EUR or 74.99 GBP.

Pre-orders open September 10 at 10:00 am local time. In the United States that is 7:00 am Pacific and 10:00 am Eastern. The same 10:00 am local start applies in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Where each one is sold, because they differ

This is the part most coverage blurs.

The White edition will be sold in limited quantities globally, both at direct.playstation.com and at participating retailers.

The Black edition is different. It is sold in limited quantities exclusively through direct.playstation.com where that store operates, and in other regions through select retailers.

direct.playstation.com operates in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria. In Portugal, pre-orders go through playstation.com/store/hardware.

Ordering directly from PlayStation includes free launch day delivery on eligible pre-orders.

What is not confirmed

Sony has not published stock numbers, and has not said whether either controller will be restocked after launch. Both are described as limited quantities. Sony’s own footnote states that exact launch date and availability may vary by country and region.

No GTA 6 console bundle has been announced.

Do this now

1. If you want one, set a reminder for September 10 at 7:00 am Pacific in the US, or 10:00 am local elsewhere. Limited quantities plus a single global on-sale time means these can go quickly.
2. Decide black or white before the timer, not during it.
3. If you are in a direct.playstation.com region and want the Black edition, plan to order there. Retail availability for that one is region dependent.
4. If you just need a working controller for launch night, you already have one. This is a collectible, not a requirement.
